PARTNERS

FIRTH ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

  • KBIS was first established in 1986 as a specialist bloodstock insurance provider under the trading name of Kershaw Bloodstock Insurance Services. In 1991, the company was acquired by Guy and Liz Prest, who expanded the business to include insurance cover for the riding and competition horse. At the end of 2020, KBIS was acquired by Specialist Risk Group (SRG) whose portfolio includes Lloyd’s broker Miles Smith and The Underwriting Exchange (TUE).

Over the years KBIS has grown further to include Horsebox insurance, Liability insurance and specialist equestrian Property insurance. Despite our growth we have still maintained our focus on providing a personal and efficient service, which has helped us to become the largest independent equine insurance provider in the UK.

  • Our mission is to provide innovative, affordable and transparent insurance policies while delivering excellent customer service from our passionate, personal and professional team, alongside supporting the equestrian industry through sponsorship and partnerships.

Innovation – Create new products inline with customer requirements.

Transparent – Providing clear policy terms and conditions and a straight forward claims process.

Affordable – Offering a range of cover levels to suit different budgets.

Knowledgeable – All of our team are experts in their field.

Passionate – We all have an active interest in the equestrian industry, with many of us owning and competing our own horses, allowing us to combine our hobby with our work.

  • KBIS's growth and customer loyalty has been built upon a company ethos of providing excellent customer service combined with a fast, efficient and fair claims process. The majority of our customers have been recommended to us by friends, vets or by word of mouth thanks to the good reputation we have worked hard to achieve. We ensure that our policies offer comprehensive cover and are transparent, so you are clear on the cover you have in place. All of our staff have equestrian knowledge or are experts in their fields so are able to answer any concerns or queries you may have.

In addition we have always believed in trying to offer our customers continuity and so when possible, whether taking out a new policy or making a claim, if you choose, you can deal with the same person each time helping to make the process as quick and easy as possible. Importantly though, as horse owners, we understand our customers concerns and expectations and how much you value your horse and so will always do our best to work with you to achieve the best possible outcome.
